Approaching The Summit

One Week To Go Until Disruption Summit Europe

Join us at 133 Houndsditch, London on the 10th of September for Disruption Summit Europe, D/SRUPTION’s annual conference for collaborative leaders

In 2017, D/SRUPTION opened the doors of Disruption Summit Europe for the first time. Since then, the annual event has grown, hosting business leaders for a day of informative talks, interactive workshops, and roundtable discussions.

Next week the Summit returns for its third year, showcasing the organisations that are pioneering disruptive innovation within and across industry sectors. As the lines between industries and organisations continue to blur, this year’s Disruption Summit focuses on the convergence of technology, innovation and purpose. Delegates will hear from world renowned companies, network with peers, and gain invaluable insights into the skills and strategies needed to thrive in constantly disrupted markets.

What would LEGO do?

This year, DSE’s keynote speakers come from businesses at the forefront of their industries including David Gram, Intrapreneur in Residence at LEGO, Tracey Follows, founder of Futuremade, and Frazer Bennett, Chief Innovation Officer at PA Consulting. Delegates will also hear from some of the UK’s most disruptive businesses like Change Please, who exemplify the importance of merging technology, innovation and purpose.

Each speaker session at DSE takes the real world learnings of leading organisations and offers sound advice to help others navigate notoriously complicated change processes. Following the opening sessions, attendees can explore three different conference tracks – Change, Growth and Exchange. Each is based on an equally complex challenge, featuring successful startups, major businesses such as Vodafone, and public sector bodies such as the Department for Education and the Ministry of Justice.

Listening to the experiences of innovative organisations can transform the way that companies think about their own challenges. Due to convergence, these hurdles are becoming increasingly similar regardless of industry and sector. But listening isn’t the only way to learn…

Cocreate and collaborate

Disruption Summit Europe is designed with collaboration at its core. Alongside talks and panel sessions, the conference also offers a range of workshops and roundtables on specific topics for delegates who prefer to learn through active participation.

This year’s workshops provide hands-on training for two increasingly important objectives: developing true workforce agility, and creating strategies to leverage chatbots. Additionally, our roundtable discussions focus on the four foundational challenges of customer experience, data, sustainability, and transformation. Delegates are advised to register their interest should they wish to take part.

Throughout the day, attendees will be able to get up close and personal with tech on the exhibition floor. The space will feature premium 3D printing from Ultimaker, chatbot technology developed by AI company GreenShoot Labs, and various projects carried out by summer interns at conference partner PA Consulting. PA’s interns will share their experience of tackling some of the biggest challenges in the technology sphere, including building a smart fridge, improving driver assistance technology, finding a quantum computing solution for remote salespeople, and optimising data via machine learning and the Internet of Things.

One of the must-see sessions at Disruption Summit Europe will be the final unveiling of the Disruption50 Index –  the 50 most disruptive companies in the UK. The Index, whittled down by an expert judging panel with the help of artificial intelligence from Unanimous AI, ranks companies in order of disruptive potential. Attendees will be able to meet with founders from Disruption50 companies to find out more about how they are driving technology, innovation, and purpose, and to understand what it takes to see disruption not as a threat but as an opportunity.

Networking experience

With so many interactive sessions on offer, networking opportunities sit at the heart of the Summit. To make sure that attendees don’t miss out on these all-important connections, D/SRUPTION has teamed up with Grip. The Grip app combines the functionality of Tinder with the content of LinkedIn to create a professional matchmaking service.

Participants can use the app to see who is attending the conference, who is interested in speaking to them, and arrange meetings. The app generates recommended contacts, allowing attendees to chat before, during, and after the Summit. It also includes a programme of events to help find the most convenient times to meet. Each attendee will receive an email with their log in details prior to the event.

Whether it’s meeting the founder of a disruptive startup, taking part in an interactive workshop, or hearing from businesses at the very top of their game, Disruption Summit Europe will share the knowledge, experience, and insights needed to take organisations from disrupted to disruptors.

With more sessions, speakers, and delegates than ever before, Disruption Summit Europe 2019 will deliver a unique conference experience of active discussion, cocreation sessions, and the opportunity to hear first-hand from the businesses benefitting from the convergence of technology, innovation and purpose.
