Disrupted Retail – Harvey Nichols hosts iDisrupted Live
The 5th floor at Harvey Nichols in London was the setting for the first of our iDisrupted Live series of events exploring disruption and innovation across various industry sectors. The inaugural event bought together senior figures from the UK’s leading retailers along with innovators and technology experts from across the retail sector to touch, feel and experience the technologies disrupting the retail sector today: 3D Printing, Augmented Reality, Beacons, Cognitive Computing, The Internet of Things and Virtual Reality.
The exclusive event offered guests the opportunity to hear from two retailers at the forefront of innovation in Home Retail Group and John Lewis, to get hands on with six key technologies and finally a really interesting Q&A with Annabel Kilner of Made.com and and Baz Saidieh from Truestart
Jo Hickson, Group Innovation Director at Home Retail Group inspired the audience sharing some of her observations around retail disruption, talking through some of the innovations that have been central to Argos’s strong performance in recent years:
John Vary, Innovation Manager at John Lewis impressed everyone with his insights on innovation within a 150-year-old business. He highlighted the fact that innovation was seen as a philosophy not a process within the business and shared some of the technologies that John Lewis have been working on over the past year.
