Dr Mahiben Maruthappu is a Public Health Registrar and Co-founder of Cera, a multi-award winning technology-enabled homecare provider transforming social care. He advised the CEO of NHS England on £100 billion of health spending for three years, co-founding the NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) which benefitted 3 million people in its first six months. Cera was launched in November 2016, and uses digital and artificial intelligence to match patients with in-home health-care professionals. Through Cera’s matching algorithm and automated scheduling systems, it is able respond to enquiries within the hour, and in 96% of cases start care within 24 hours if requested.
